As we mark the end of a busy and exciting summer, where approximately 90 students participated in SIS Abroad short-term summer practica, seminars, and internships abroad (learn
& see more on Instagram @SISAbroad #sisabroad & Brazil Practicum Blog), we are thrilled to send ten graduate and two undergraduate
students abroad to several of our partner institutions for the Fall 2016
semester.
Students will be studying in St. Petersburg, Russia at St.Petersburg State University, Paris, France at Sciences Po, Geneva, Switzerland at the Graduate Institute Geneva and on the outskirts of San Jose in Costa Rica at
the UN
University for Peace. We also have one continuing Dual Degree Student at Korea University.
Students enrolled in semester abroad programs span various degree programs at
SIS including two each come from the Global Governance and Security Program
(GGPS), International Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), U.S. Foreign Policy
(USFP) and one each from the Comparative and Regional Studies (CRS), MAIR
Online (MAIR), International Development (ID), and one Dual Degree Washington
College of Law/SIS student.
Additionally, we are excited to have two undergraduate SIS
students attending Sciences Po’s regional campus in Reims, about 45 minutes outside of Paris, which focuses
on Europe-North America/Europe-Africa Relations, and offers certificates in International
Affairs & Strategy, European Affairs and Business & Economics to AU
exchange students.
Stay tuned to the SIS Abroad Blog to learn more about our student’s
adventures both in and outside the classroom during their semester abroad. We will
also post photos to Instagram (@SISAbroad)
and will share information regarding information sessions and application
deadlines for our semester and short-term programs on Twitter (@SISStudyAbroad) and our website this fall:
